Planning & Architecture
BTA Breeding Farm is located in Donegle, Ireland. The circulation system consists of one reservoir, four spawning ponds, four incubation ponds, four seedling ponds, 16 fry ponds and eight parent ponds.
Build Up
BTA’s Donegal plant, which uses the EWG-RAS recirculating aquaculture system and uses only 2.4 acres, doubles tilapia production in the breeding grounds and makes the company Ireland’s largest producer of tilapia fry.

Equipment matching
Raising tilapia in ponds is restricted by the weather, and factory breeding can overcome the weather restriction to a certain extent. Tilapia’s industrial seedlings are relatively few. BTA used algae to purify water quality for seedling cultivation, but the effect is unstable. Finally, EWG-RAS industrial seedling cultivation equipment and methods were adopted.
System flow path
After sand filtration and ultraviolet sterilization, the water supply outside the circulating system enters the system. The water treatment system in the circulating system consists of a particle rotary filter, a roller microfilter, a moving bed biofilter and a low energy consumption pure oxygen aeration device. After removal of coarse particle impurities such as excreta and bait by micro-filter, aquaculture wastewater flows into mobile bed biofilter and returns to aquaculture pond through low energy consumption pure oxygen aeration device.
